Information

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world's largest organization dedicated to girls. Around the globe, there are 3.6 million girls and adults involved in girl scouting. It's a great place for girls to learn about the world, themselves, and have fun. In Glastonbury, there are 572 girl scouts registered. We participate in activites such as the traditional cookie sale, town-wide camping at Timber Trails, and dances such as the Hawaiin Luau. As a girl scout, a girl can travel to far away places, and stay in places such as the Pax Lodge, a youth hostel for girl scouts in Europe. Girls can participate in programs known as Wider Ops, which give them the chance to travel, learn a new skill, meet new friends, and have fun as a girl scout. Girl Scouting is a great oppurtunity.

Glastonbury Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts are for girls in grades K - 12. Here in Glastonbury, we have troops in every school. We have over 60 troops registered. Troops generally start by meeting after school at their school. The meeting times tend to change as the girls become older.
Each school has a coordinator to help the organize troops in that school. But all troops work together as a town.

The levels are broken down as follows:
Daisy : Kindergarten - 1st grade
Brownie: 2nd grade - 3rd grade
Junior: 4th grade - 5th grade
Cadette: 6th grade - 8th grade
Senior: 9th grade - 10th grade
Ambassador: 11th grade - 12th grade

Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are also refered to as older girls.
